Good movie
But it was all just dazzling effects (then again, isn't that what Flash 5 is all about) Shut up me... Sorry. Anyways, yes I do see how some could claim this movie to be imitation of Xiao Xiao, but what are you going to do? Xiao Xiao came first, and any decent stick movie that comes after Xiao Xiao is going to have that generalization stuck to it. Now to the movie... I didn't like the character very much. Too coarse, not enough background on the guy, doesn't seem to really know what he is doing. For the background information on the character Max Payne, I would refer to the movie Kong. It would help the movie just a little if we were to know why those guys were going after Kong. Same goes for this movie. If we knew Payne's motivation for killing all those guys, maybe it would be a little easier to enjoy. Those short clips of teddy bears and building blocks don't really say as much as you probably hoped they would have. As for Payne not seeming to know what to do, well... you can't blame Payne for that. I know you probably planned for that to happen the whole time you were making this movie, but to see the hero start to panic when he gets stuck in a corner, that's not very people friendly. We almost assume that the guy doesn't really know what he is doing, rather he's just in there getting a BUNCH of lucky shots off. I also want to add that there were a couple of unnecessary scenes to show off some effects. Namely the bottle thrown at the guys and then shot and it blows up. That to me was unbelievable. Bottles of alcohol do not explode when shot to the best of my knowledge. Now, they do explode when you stuff a rag in them and light the rag on fire (molotov cocktail), but not when you shoot them. The bullet just doesn't cause enough heat to ignite the alcohol. I could explain it better, but this is going on long enough anyways. All-in-all, I would still rate the Xiao Xiao movies higher than this one. I guess when you see one stick movie, you've seen them all, no matter what graphic effects you give them. You've got a lot of talent, definitely. There's no question about that. So try making a movie with full characters. With your talent, that would be an incredible movie to see. Best of luck to your future movies.
